Adam Augustyn (on the left)

Adam Augustyn is a Chicago-based visual storyteller. He works as an art director, UI/UX leader, and painter, shaping player experiences in the game industry and showing his paintings in galleries nationwide.

Game Industry

Adam is currently UI/UX Director at Wargaming Chicago, where he leads a multidisciplinary team of designers, artists, animators, and engineers on World of Tanks, a AAA live-service title. He partners closely with Game Design, Production, Technical Directors, and Live Operations to modernize pipelines and build processes that let teams move faster without sacrificing player experience quality.

Before Wargaming, Adam spent nearly two decades as Art Director and Producer at Chewy Software, where he helped lead the development of more than 150 shipped titles for clients including Wargaming, Amazon, Disney, Nickelodeon, and Wilson. Across his 20+ year career, he has built his craft on a foundation of animation, visual design, art direction, and game design — guiding teams through operational change and evolving player expectations while fostering environments where creatives and engineers can do their best work together.

Painting

Adam Augustyn is a Chicago-based artist whose work blends pop surrealism, animation, and contemporary character design into brightly imagined worlds inspired by horror movies, mythology, and the everyday wonder of raising three daughters. Strange companions, creatures, and monsters fill surreal cityscapes, moving through moments of wonder, tension, humor, and transformation. With a background spanning design, animation, production, painting, and art direction, Augustyn brings a cinematic sense of storytelling and visual polish to each composition.

With Vertical Gallery, Adam has mounted two solo shows — The Sky Is Falling, a collection grappling with the proliferation of fringe conspiracy theories, and Hero's Journey, a personal celebration of adventure and discovery — and most recently a collection at Aqua Art Miami. Previously he exhibited a collection of work with Dark Arts Emporium.

He currently shows work with Arch Enemy Arts, Modern Eden Gallery, Nanny Goat Gallery, Brassworks Gallery, and others nationwide.
